Held by the 43rd Mayor of Los Santos, Hank Preston.
Deputy Mayor: Frederick Coleman
The Preston-Coleman Administration was formed after a landslide victory in the 2023 Los Santos Mayoral Elections and serves as the executive leadership of the City of Los Santos. The administration is responsible for a multitude of tasks, including addressing key urban challenges, developing the local economy, overseeing municipal operations, implementing policy, meeting the needs of the people, and representing the city's interests both locally and nationally. Key areas of focus include housing, infrastructure development, transportation systems, public safety, and more. Ultimately, their primary responsibility is to push Los Santos forward and improve the quality of life for its citizens therein.
Held by the City Operations Officer, Natalia Rane.
Deputy City Operations Officer: Vacant
The purpose of the Office of the City Operations Officer is primarily ensuring the efficient day-to-day functioning of municipal services, and secondarily ensuring continuity of Government, a fixed apolitical leader that serves under the active administration executing its wishes, unbound by party. The office is tasked with overseeing key departments and ensuring that public services such as waste management, transportation, utilities, and more, are delivered effectively. The office works closely with city agencies, departments, and the Office of the Mayor to implement policy, optimize resources, and resolve operational challenges.
Council President: Hank Preston.
Presiding Officer: Josély M R Martínez
The municipality's legislative branch is the City Council, and it stands to shape the policies and laws that guide the city's growth and governance. The City Council is responsible for approving budgets, enacting ordinances, and addressing the concerns of residents through public forums and community engagement. Each council member represents a district of the city, and was elected to their seat by their district, the only exception to that being the Council President - the Mayor of Los Santos. The Council as a collective both propose bills, and vote to pass or strike down bills in the Council's chambers, ensuring local democratic process and representation for the needs of the city's citizens.
Ran by departmental leadership, which comprises the Board of Directors.
Chaired by the City Operations Officer
The City Charter contains a series of departments that form the operational core of the city's municipal services, ensuring effective delivery of essential functions. Each department has a director at the helm, of which collectively each director forms the Board of Directors, chaired by the City Operations Officer. The Police Department and the Fire Department have a right to govern themselves separately to a degree and therefore are not board members. Each of the city's departments work together to manage resources and address needs, playing a vital role in executing the vision of the presiding administration.
